Social Innovation Week, organized by KITE Mongolia LLC, a social impact driven accelerator in Mongolia, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science, Mongolian Science and Innovation Fund, and the private sector participants.

During the past two years, KITE initiated Social Innovation to support the development of the startup ecosystem in Mongolia, collaborating with startups and corporations to raise awareness of impact investment and philanthropy capital in Mongolia.

This year, KITE became an official partner of InnoWeek23 /ICT Expo 23, a week-long event by the Ministry of Science and Education and the Ministry of Communication and Digital Development. The Social Innovation Week events provide a platform for startups, donor organizations, and investors to exchange knowledge and explore opportunities for collaboration.

This year, SIW23 has become the next step in raising awareness for impact investment in Mongolia. Social innovators, foundations, and corporations presented their case studies of designing socially impactful projects. Projects such as “Fragile” presented by Beer Nights Studio stood out in their originality of presenting awareness of “hidden” social issues” while “After School” program by Equity Lab presented their uniquely interesting community-based approach in bridging the education equality gap.  UNITEL was presented with the Best CRS for Innovation Award by Social Innovation Week for their IT / STEM hubs for youth and children and success in collaborating with the government entities such as the Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Social Welfare and Protection as well as with NGOs such as Women in Tech.

Participants discussed opportunities of scaling up CSR activities in Mongolia by creating a platform for philanthropy capital, Donor Advised Funding Program (DAFP), initiated by KITE Mongolia LLC and agreed that the next step for all participants is to unite our efforts under one movement, Social Innovation Alliance Network.

We hope to see impact from our collective efforts in resolving social issues in Mongolia that involve all stakeholders including the government, foundations, innovators, and the private sector, was the quote from Bolormaa Luvsandorj, the founder of Kite Mongolia LLC.
